I am sure 2020 will be a nightmare for most runners in the World. Run after run are either postponed or cancelled.

A marathon which took place was the Tien Phong Marathon in Vietnam. It was also the national championship for marathon and long distances. The original plan was to arrange the run in March but it was due to Covid postponed to July 5th and here did actual go on.

From Bornholm Runners we had the pleasure of having local Nha at the startline. Nha and Jesper shared tent at Everest Base Camp (in case someone would like to know the ‚link”) and have since that been part of Bornholm Runners.

Nha had the plan to make the run in around 4 hours but when the sun rises the temperature reached 37 degree Celcius. It started to become a fight to just manage the race and getting enough water was clearly needed. Nha finished this challenging run in 4 hours and 36 minutes while many of the competition had cramps, heat shock and even blak outs. Nha hope to have minimum two more runs in 2020 a marathon in ancient capital of Vietnam Hue on September 6th and then followed by a 70 km trail in Sapa on September 20th. There might also come some extra runs later the year but it depend totally on the Covid-19 situation.
