Sunday September 29th it was the time for this year HC Andersen running event in Odense Denmark. The city where Hans Christian Andersen was born was the place for: Marathon, Half Marathon, „last 10 km” and finally a Mini Marathon (4,2 km) for children.
16 persons from Bornholm Runners meet at DCU Camping Odense during Saturday afternoon for tea/coffee served to two fantastic home backed cakes before various light dinner dishes were delivered from a nearby restaurant.
Sunday was a chilly but sunny day without to much wind, so all runners moved towards the two start places in good mood.
At 10.00 am the start took place for: Marathon, Half Marathon and „The last 10 km”. The later had start in the very city center while all other runs started near the finish line at the Stadion in Odense, where also our 5 supporters did a great job to make our last running part as nice as possible.
All our runners made their distances and the results were:
Marathon:
Michal (his first marathon) 4 hour 12 minutes and 30 seconds, Kim 5 hours 3 minutes and 57 seconds
Half Marathon:
Casper: 2 hours 14 minutes and 30 seconds, Jesper: 2 hours 16 minutes and 51 seconds and Darren (flying in from the UK): 2 hours 29 minutes and 2 seconds
„Last 10 km”:
Tristan (only 11 years): 1 hour 18 minutes and 15 seconds, Sandra: 1 hour 18 minutes and 16 seconds, Greta: 1 hour 20 minutes and 16 seconds, Heidi: 1 hour 28 minutes and 4 seconds.
Mini Marathon (4,2 km)
Selma: 36 minutes and 32 seconds followed by Noah: 41 minutes and 32 seconds
All in all we had a great weekend and enjoyed to run in a common event.
The entire running team would like to thank our great support team: Rikke, Hanne, Klaus and our two youngest members Helena and Victor.
Also thank you to everyone taking pictures during this event so we can have a great memory
